The best part of my 8th grade year (other than making the B-team Basketball Cheerleading squad – Go Indians!) was the debut of Clueless. That movie has been lifeblood to me. The quotes, the music, the makeover. Tai went from “toe-up” to a total Betty. What’s not to love? Anytime I’ve wanted to make some changes in my life, I ALWAYS think about Cher and how she went for the total makeover package. An inside and outside experience. The best kind.
Katie recently did an overhaul with her office at work, going from blah to aha! And no offense to my bestie, it needed it! Being a lawyer is hard work. And sometimes, you need to hit that refresher button both in life and in your decor to liven things up and get recharged.
And Katie did just that. Katie’s new office is completely banging. Love LOVE love. I absolutely love the flow and muted tones. And the vibe is so calm and peaceful which is a rarity in any office, let alone a divorce attorney’s office. The best part is everything came from Home Goods. Fabulous, affordable, & absolutely gorgeous.
Katie’s office before the makeover wasn’t awful. It just wasn’t her. It was dark and heavy. And there was a lot of mismatching that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But things need to flow. And they just didn’t. But the after – whoa!
Way to go, Katie! It looks gorgeous. When I decide to divorce my future ex-husband, I know I’ll feel calm and right at home in your office.
Are you thinking about changing things up at the office? Keep these 3 tips in mind.
- Don’t rush the process. I know we all love for things to be done quickly, but the best things can’t be hurried. You don’t have to buy everything in one day and at one store. Mix. Match. Marinate.
- Get inspired. What’s your style? What do you want to change about your space? Pinterest is a great source of inspiration. Look at other rooms that you like. Pin them. Print them. Come back in a week and see if you still are in love with them or not. Check out our Office Decor Pinterest Board to get you started.
- Have fun. Decorating is supposed to be fun. Don’t get stressed out trying to make everything perfect. Perfect is overrated. This is your space. Make it something that makes you happy when you walk in the room. You deserve it.
